Helen Freeman
I have worked in education since 2002 where I progressed into middle and then senior leadership by 2009.
I have been involved in areas of attendance, behaviour and safeguarding. Recently, I have been heavily
involved in mental health as the Senior Mental Health Lead at Dukes.
I currently have a child in Year 7 at Dukes Secondary school and a daughter who has Down syndrome at
Bishops Primary.
Ashington and the surrounding area has played a huge role in my life. I was educated in Ashington and
now live locally with my family.
I want all young people to be able to develop and nurture aspirations no matter their ability.
Northumberland is beautiful and I am proud to live here. I spend a lot of my spare time visiting the local
coastline and countryside with my family and going on the paddleboard whenever I can.
