I have two lovely sons, one in Dukes and one son still in Primary school.

I qualified as a teacher straight from DeMontfort University however my career path changed and I moved into Procurement and Project management. My career allowed me to work and raise a family in my hometown of Bedford for Central Bedfordshire Council.

Relocating back to my husband's home area of the North East has allowed me to work on more local projects, my most recent project being the regeneration of Pegswood Play Park, from funding, concept and design - the project was very exciting to work on and complete in the local area.

I also spent several years in Southern Oregon, USA before I had my family working for a multinational company and of course exploring all of America too!

I have seen the impact positive investment and change can bring to the local area and wish to continue to help it thrive and achieve its full potential. I hope by taking on the role as Parent Governor at Dukes I can support the school in its mission to help the children thrive and grow too.
