Are you ready for Freddy? To chime with Hallowe’en, this week sees the release of a cinematic adaptation of Five Night’s at Freddy’s (FNaF) – a suspenseful series of horror games which, despite their 12+ age rating, have gained significant popularity with younger children.

We got all of Year 9 who were in school on the 16th October completing the 30 compressions and some brave people doing the two breaths as part of their CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) training. We also looked at how the recovery position is performed. We also talked about why this is so important, 80% of all cardiac arrests happen in the home. This year’s campaign is focusing on defibrillation awareness and access to this life saving device. So a video linked to this was also shown in tutor time. Well done Year 9.

Great Duke’s bake off is back!
If staff and students would like to enter this year’s cake competition they need to bring any cakes or traybakes along to the beacon on Friday 27th October before the tutor bell.
Cakes will then be on sale at break and lunch after judging has taken place. Prizes for category winners.

We are holding a disco for Year 7 on the 8th November.
Tickets are on sale from break and lunch club. £1.50 per ticket and there will be a tuck shop and drinks on sale. Good behaviour is needed to attend. Please see Mrs Henderson, Mrs Young or Miss Smith for more details.
