How the process works
The Year 9 option process for September 2025 is due to begin in January 2025.
From the week beginning 27/01/25, students, parents and carers of Year 9 pupils will be able to view a series of on-line subject presentations on the school website which should give a taste of what each of the subject choices involve. This will be followed up with:
Careers interviews for all of Year 9 (February 2025) – to support our students to make option choices that support their future career aspirations
Parents and Options Evening (19/3/25) – where the prospectus will be given out and parents and students will have an opportunity to find out about their progress in lessons and find out more about option choices
Student Option Interviews (April 2025) – Students will be interviewed by a member of the Y9 options team and supported in making their choices should they require it
Parental Meetings (14/5/25) – for parents to make an appointment with one of the careers team if they require further support for their child in making their final choices
The final deadline for submission of option forms will be the 19/5/25
