Duke’s Secondary School seeks to create a community in which everyone without exception is respected, valued and happy. The School’s uniform policy makes an invaluable contribution to this by:
- Contributing to a sense of community identity;
- Supporting high standards of leadership, behaviour and dress;
- Instilling respect amongst learners for themselves and others;
All learners are expected to take pride in their appearance, including their dress, and in their Academy. As such they are expected to wear the correct uniform at all times.
Full details of the Academy uniform for girls and boys of all ages including learners in the sixth form are detailed here:
Duke’s Secondary School “badged” uniform items are available from our supplier. Items of uniform without the School badge are available from various shops at a reasonable cost.

We are currently consulting parents and carers on some proposed changes to our school uniform that we would like to implement from September 2019. We propose to implement these changes gradually over the year, with all pupils being required to be in the revised uniform by September 2020.
Mr Gibson has written to parents and carers to outline these changes. The letter is below:
Parents/Carers are invited to participate in the consultation by giving their views via the website feedback, by clicking here.
The design for the new school ties are shown below:
The consultation process will close on 1st March, and the school will write to parents and carers again to outline the decisions made following feedback.
