As the head teacher at Duke’s School, Mr Gibson leads the staff team and has the responsibility for all aspects of school life. He came to the school with previous experience as a Principal, and has 18 years of senior and middle leadership experience in schools and colleges in the north east. Mr Gibson studied Music at Newcastle University, where he also completed a Master’s degree in Education. Mr Gibson loves working at Duke’s and is passionate about enabling young people to let their LIGHT shine!
Mrs Gadsby is Assistant Principal with responsibility for pastoral matters, attendance and alternative provision. She has been part of the team at the school for several years, particularly in supporting some of our most vulnerable learners to succeed. Mrs Gadsby enjoys working with pupils at Duke’s so that they can make a positive difference to our local community.
As the Assistant Principal at Duke’s School, Mr Rhodes leads on behaviour. He joined the school in January 2010 as Head of Science and joined the Senior Leadership Team in 2016. Mr Rhodes has over 10 years of senior and middle leadership experience in schools and colleges in the north east. Mr Rhodes studied Biomedical Science at University and enjoys teaching Science.

Mr Smith has worked at Duke’s for the last four years, and as part of the senior team for the last year. Mr Smith studied Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Durham University, and subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning at Sunderland University. Mr Smith thoroughly enjoys working within the school and developing our approach to teaching and learning.
