Duke’s Ambassadors support Bishop at Cathedral

A group of Year 10 ambassadors today visited Newcastle Cathedral to support Bishop Christine in leading the Newcastle Diocese primary leaver service.  This is a special service held annually for children who are leaving First or Primary Church of England schools across the Diocese.

The Duke’s pupils did a fantastic job of ensuring all the different schools represented were seated in the correct place within the Cathedral, and that all the children and adults knew what to do and when.  They also supported Bishop Christine in lighting the candles during a special part of the service where we were all encouraged to “let our light shine”.

At the conclusion of the service, the Duke’s pupil processed out with the Bishop and the banners from the primary schools represented.
